Minotaur A-4, Early Friday Evening

Door, glad for the week of relaxation after so much activity at the end of the term, spent the morning lazing about. She only realized once she started going through her things deciding what to pack, how much she's accumulated for someone who arrived in Fandom with just the clothes on her back. Thus, she doesn't make it down to the cabins until the evening.

What looks to the naked eye like a pigeon flutters over her shoulder as she walks in and drops her bags on the nearest unoccupied unless I missed a post in which case happy to pick a new cubby lalala bed.

It almost seems a shame after all that work to start un-packing her things. Still, it also seems like the proper way to start a new adventure, so that's what she's doing.

Robin arrived at the cabin and hopped up the steps and tossed his back pack up onto the bed in B1, then he started looking for cabin mates.

"C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me." he sang as he went.

Charlie came back from her adventure in town, and headed to the dorms, hoping to meet her dorm roommate and cabinmates before too long. "Hello? Anyone in here yet?"

"Hello?" Door pokes her head out from her curtain, then just opens it all the way. "...Oh. Hello." *tilt* Well, it could have been the furniture singing, but the most likely suspect is the frog. "I'm Door."

Door waves a hand from her cubicle. "I am! And Chimney." There's a short squawk from over her shoulder that Door suspects was meant to be Hello and not Bedknobs.

"Oh good, you speak English as well as sing it," Door says, relieved. "I don't speak Frog, so we'd have had an interesting time of it otherwise."

Charlie looked down... and down. This would've been more shocking before this afternoon's adventure, but it was still kind of staggering. "Hi." A weak smile. "I'm Charlie. You're talking. Whoa."

"It's not an easy language for humans to speak." Robin agreed. "But most of my family speaks English, it makes it easier to talk to our neighbors. It's almost impossible for a Frog to speak Alligator for instance, or vice versa."

"Yup and I can sing and play the banjo too." he said proudly. So far his cabin mates were pretty girls. This was a good thing.

Door's eyes light up. "That's fascinating. We had a class in animal languages, the term before last, but we didn't learn Frog. Or alligator."

"She." Door calls to Chimney and she flies over and lands on the bed. "Well, it, really." Door runs her fingernail along the hidden seam under the bird's breastfeathers, and its chest opens up like a wee feathered door. A Tootsie Roll falls out of the little cavity inside, rolling onto the bed.

"She's -- it's-- a robot?" Charlie boggled. So far there've been ghosts, and talking frogs, and now this cute little bird whose chest spits out candy. "That is... way too cool."

Naomi had been in the cabin for a while and had finished unpacking, when she heard someone calling out she came out of her alcove, "hey," she said with a smile.

"Really? That's great! Most humans hardly ever bother to learn animal languages. I can speak Dog a little bit, and I know a few words in Bear, but mostly I just know English and Frog."
